Our lantern Project Nyks, in which we are inspired from ancient greek myhtology’s goddess of night while deciding its name, has icosidodecahedron underlied in its geometry as a base. This geometric solid consists of pentagons and triangles. The reason why we come to an agreement on this kind of a 3d form is because the base geometry itself actually is an archimedean solid which completes itself to a sphere. In this way anyone will be able to assemble the lantern easily simply by following the guide. Moreover our lantern does not need any other additional part while connecting two units; every piece is designed to come together by our system of folding and engaging its certain parts thus giving it a visual unity and making it easier to build. Before this method, we experimented  with various kinds of connecting systems until we found the most stable one.

Our lantern Nyks is a perfect choice for those who enjoy puzzles and for those who simply want a different approach to lanterns!
